what is the definition of hope and wish

Wish and Hope are believed to be two words that have the same meaning. Though both differ on context.

HOPE
 
In contrast to wish, hope is a hope that can be realized and very likely to happen.

Example:

I hope we can still be friends.

The equivalent of I hope is I can be I hope ... I can ...

WISH
 
It is a difficult hope to realize even impossible.

Example:

I wish I can fly.

The equivalent of I wish is I could be I wish ... I could ...

* Could here not be in the past tense but rather express something unreal or unlike.
